Toddler dies in Perth hit and run

Police are appealing for a driver to come forward after the death of a toddler who was hit by a car in front of a house in an outer suburb of Perth.

A toddler has been killed in a hit and run accident in Perth.

Police say the 22-month-old boy was run over in front of a house in Dunmore Crescent in Merriwa shortly after 5pm on Friday.

He died in hospital.

The driver of the car, which allegedly drove from the scene without stopping, has been identified and police have issued a plea for him to come forward.

Major crash investigators are at the scene seeking witnesses.
