A 15-month-old boy has been killed after being struck by a car in the driveway of an Adelaide home.

The child was hit at the Parafield Gardens home at 5.30pm on Wednesday, but urgent efforts from paramedics could not save the boy.

The driver, a 49-year-old Salisbury man, was not hurt and is helping police with their investigation into the incident.

It's believed the boy was one of four children who lived at the Lancaster Ave home, the paper said.
