Malcolm Turnbull has decided he does not need guidance from Tony Abbott's chief business adviser.
Climate change sceptic Maurice Newman's term as chairman of the prime minister's business advisory council has expired and he has not been reappointed, Mr Turnbull's spokesman told AAP on Monday.
Mr Newman was embroiled in controversy earlier this year after accusing the UN of using global warming as a tool to create an "authoritarian world" with concentrated political authority.
