Elderly resident Barbara Garcia had attempted to take shelter from the storm with her dog in a bathroom when the tornado struck.

She emerged unscathed but alone from the wreckage.

Standing amongst the rubble which was once her home, Barbara Garcia was speaking to CBS news reporters about her experience and anxiety over her missing pet when the crew spotted some signs of life amongst the wreckage.

"I hollered for my little dog and he didn't come, so I know he's in there," says Garcia in the interview.

Moments later, the dog, almost buried alive in the rubble, miraculously emerged and crawled out of the debris into Garcia's teaful embrace.
