Torture charges laid over severed finger

Passers-by found a woman near the side of a Brisbane road and discovered one of her fingers had been severed. Three people have now been charged with torture.

Three people have now been charged with torture after a woman's finger was severed in Brisbane's south.

The injured 37-year-old woman was found by members of the public near Ison Road in Greenbank on Friday night and taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, police say.

Her finger was found nearby.

A 42-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman have both been charged with deprivation of liberty, torture, unlawful wounding, grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm.

On Saturday night police charged a third person, a 31-year-old woman from Laidley, with grievous bodily harm, torture, deprivation of liberty, unlawful wounding, bodily harm and breach of bail.

She is due to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
