Total fire ban in place across ACT

Temperatures are forecast to peak at 36 degrees across the ACT on Sunday, with a severe fire warning in place.

A total fire ban will be enforced across the ACT on Sunday, with hot weather and gusty winds creating severe conditions for a blaze.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting temperatures to peak at 36C, with the hot conditions to be fanned by northwesterly winds.

The forecast fire danger rating is predicted to be severe.

ACT Emergency Services warns that any fire that starts in severe conditions may be uncontrollable, move quickly and trigger spot blazes up to 4km away.
