Tottenham's Vertonghen to miss six weeks

Jan Vertonghen is tipped to be out for six weeks as the Tottenham defender recovers from an ankle ligament injury.

Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen is expected to miss six weeks with an ankle ligament injury, manager Mauricio Pochettino said Thursday.

Vertonghen was forced to leave last weekend's 4-0 win over West Bromwich after turning his left ankle in the second half.

"Jan is OK, he's very positive," Pochettino said on the club's website.

"We expect six weeks, less than at first.

"We don't want to set the time limit. When your mind is positive it's easier to recover."
