Tourist films Pearl Harbor chopper crash

A tourist has captured video of the dramatic moment a helicopter crashed into Pearl Harbor after the pilot radioed 'I think I'm going down'.

The pilot of a helicopter that crash-landed into Pearl Harbor in front of stunned tourists radioed air traffic controllers to tell them his craft was in trouble.

Honolulu TV station KHON-TV obtained the recording, in which the pilot tells the tower, "I think I'm going down".

Moments later, the tower radios for help, saying the chopper is underwater.

The five people on board, including a Canadian family of four, survived Thursday's crash near the visitor's centre, but a teenage boy is in a critical condition.

Bystanders helped rescue him from the submerged chopper.

A tourist captured video of the dramatic fall on his mobile phone before jumping in to help.
