TPG wins more spectrum in Singapore

TPG Telecom has secured another 10 Mhz of spectrum in Singapore as it builds on plans to become the fourth mobile network operator in the city-state.

Internet provider TPG Telecom says it has secured further spectrum at the general spectrum auction in Singapore this week.

The company will pay $S23.8 million ($22.5 million) for its successful bid of two lots of 5 Megahertz spectrum in the 2.5 GHz band, which it says will complement spectrum acquired in December.

TPG spent nearly $A100 million in December 2016 to acquire the spectrum in Singapore, and had already outlined plans to invest a total of $A381 million to become the fourth mobile network operator in the city-state.
