Tragic twist to WA fatal car crash

After two of his friends died in a car rollover on a remote, unsealed WA road, a 24-year-old man who survived the crash took his own life.

A 24-year-old man took his own life after surviving a crash on a remote West Australian road that killed his two friends.

It is understood all three men, who hailed from nearby towns in Southland on New Zealand's southernmost tip, were not wearing seat belts.

A member of the public found the rolled ute on a straight stretch of the unsealed Lake King-Norseman Road on Saturday morning, calling police at around 7.15am.

Police said they believed the crash happened some time during the night.

On Monday, they said two men aged 24 and 25 died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, while the third man died from injuries that he did not receive in the crash.

It is understood the driver, Kadin Wallace, took his own life before help arrived.

The other victims were Dylan Sherriff and Jeremy Vergeer, who announced his engagement to local girl Lauren Withers earlier this month.

The men had been living in Australia for several years and worked on farms in the Cascade area near Esperance.

Two of the men's parents have flown from New Zealand to Esperance, while the third man's parents will arrive soon.

Their friends took to social media to express their grief.

"Having the worse news brought upon you crushes who you are," Micky Dowling posted on Facebook.

"To the 3 boys that I spent my childhood with to be taken is devastating.

"Kadin you were my best and closest mate from the beginning and nothing can be more harder for me to say goodbye. My love for their family's and friends. Wish you where here boiis." (sic).

Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
