Transurban lifts 1H revenue 18.4 per cent

Toll road operator Transurban has lifted first half revenue 18.4 per cent, with big increases in average daily traffic on its Sydney and Brisbane roads.

Toll road operator Transburban has lifted first half revenue 18.4 per cent to $900 million following a big rise in journeys for its December quarter.

Proportional toll revenue for the December quarter was up 17.9 per cent on the prior corresponding period, with big increases in average daily traffic on its Sydney and Brisbane roads again contributing.

Average daily traffic in Sydney for the three months to December 31 increased 7.8 per cent to 631,000 trips across roads including the upgraded Hills M2 and M5 South West Motorway.

Trips across Transurban's Brisbane roads were up 8.7 per cent to 329,000 with the new Legacy Way included in the December quarter for the first time.
