Toll road operator Transurban has made a fresh debt-raising of 750 million Norwegian krone ($A117 million) through a private placement in the European debt market.

The proceeds will be swapped into the Australian currency and used to repay existing bank debt, the company said on Tuesday.

"This transaction takes our existing Euro program to a new investor base in Europe, further diversifying our funding sources," Transurban chief financial officer Adam Watson said in a statement.

Transurban's Queensland unit in June also raised $A280 million in the Swiss debt market.
