A popular book blogger who died in hospital five days after being hit by an out-of-control car on Sydney's north shore is being remembered as a vibrant and much-loved friend.

Heather Croxon, 31, was walking along a footpath on Chatswood's Victoria Ave last Friday morning, when a sedan veered onto a kerb and ploughed into a pram before hitting her.

The car then crashed into a pole, hit a motorbike and flipped onto its side, coming to rest outside a Chinese restaurant.

While the child in the pram escaped injury, Ms Croxon suffered critical head injuries and died at Royal North Shore Hospital on Wednesday.

Ms Croxon, originally from Davistown on the state's Central Coast, moved to Chatswood recently and was working in office administration.

She described herself as an "avid reader, occasional writer and lover of baked goods" on her book-review blog, and was completing a Bachelor's degree in professional writing and publishing at university via correspondence.

Her sister Amanda Andrews wrote a heartfelt tribute to her older sibling, thanking friends, colleagues and hospital staff for their help.

"Today I said goodbye to my beautiful big sister who as I held her hand she took her last breath and passed on peacefully," she wrote on Facebook.

Ms Andrews said she wanted to think of the books-lover meeting famous authors in heaven.

"Probably looking like a stunned mullet before she gets up the courage to meet them," she joked.

"Then her smile when she realises she has the perfect view of Benedict Cumberbatch from up there.

"All I can say is enjoy, I'll cya later Hef. Lots of love your annoying little sister Amanda."

Ms Croxon's blogger friends have remembered her as a beautiful young woman who had the world at her feet and who could make light of a difficult situation.

A fundraiser organised by friends to help with hospital costs has netted over $7000.

"She was so loved, and all I wish was that I'd told her so more often," Shaina Coogan wrote.

"This world without her has lost so much that can not be replaced," Jamie Dixon said.

"She left a little glitter wherever she went."

The 67-year-old man driving the sedan was treated for minor injuries and has undergone mandatory blood and urine testing.

Another woman, believed to be the mother of the child in the pram, was treated for shock.

Officers are continuing to investigate the crash and have urged any witnesses to contact them.
