Sydney short film festival Tropfest will make a comeback in 2016 thanks to a funding lifeline thrown to the struggling event.

Short film festival Tropfest will return next year after receiving a funding lifeline.

The festival will be staged on February 14 in Centennial Parklands in Sydney.

Founder John Polson, who was forced to cancel the festival last month due to mismanagement of funds, says the event will be back thanks to CGU Insurance following an overwhelming outpouring of support.
