Tropical Cyclone Linda has formed in the Coral Sea off the Queensland coast.
The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed the low pressure system had turned into a category one system on Tuesday afternoon.
It is located northeast of Gladstone but is expected to make its way south towards the Sunshine Coast by Thursday afternoon but is unlikely to make landfall.
