Another Qantas aircraft has run into trouble, with an engine fault grounding a flight out of Brisbane Airport on Friday.
QF15 was scheduled to leave for Los Angeles at 11am (AEST) when an issue was discovered with the wiring in one of the 747's engines.
The airline says the problem was fixed by the afternoon but the aircraft was forced to stay put overnight because the crew members' shift was due to end.
The 386 passengers were sent home in taxis or put up in hotels with the flight now due to depart at 10.30am Saturday.
A Qantas flight to Brisbane was also delayed for five hours in Perth on Friday after a defect was discovered in a wing flap.
Over the last week, a Qantas A380 superjumbo which suffered two tyre blowouts while landing at Sydney Airport finally departed for Singapore after a problem with the brakes was identified.
On Tuesday, another Qantas flight was disrupted after a pilot discovered a fault in the third engine.
The near-full QF5 jumbo was forced to turn back to Sydney shortly after taking off 5.10pm (AEDT), dumping fuel into the sea on the way in order to meet landing requirements.
