Troubled Richmond star Dustin Martin is trying to focus on football while he awaits the outcome of a police investigation.
Martin trained with his Tigers teammates at Punt Road on Friday morning before a small crowd of 100 fans.
He will also take part in a week-long training camp at Palm Cove in far North Queensland starting Sunday.
The AFL confirmed on Thursday night that Victoria Police were asked to look into the incident last Saturday where a drunk Martin allegedly threatened a woman.
Richmond and the AFL are continuing their own investigations although police involvement may delay any sanctions taken against the 24-year-old.
"The serious nature of the allegation requires that this matter be referred to the police," the AFL said in a statement.
"If the investigation reveals threatening and violent behaviour, the AFL will take strong action.
"However, it is important for the investigation to be complete before the AFL acts or makes any further comment."
Victoria Police are investigating reports that Martin threatened to stab the woman in the face with a chopstick at a Chapel St restaurant.
"The incident was not initially reported to police, but police are now aware of the incident and have identified a woman," a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
"The victim is a woman from Sydney and our investigation remains ongoing."
Martin has already apologised to the unnamed woman.
Meanwhile, promising Richmond forward Ben Lennon has been ruled out of the Queensland training camp after being diagnosed with a mild case of glandular fever.
Lennon will remain in Melbourne with no date set for his return to training.
"While this is obviously a setback for Ben, it's important he concentrates on getting healthy, and we will support him through that process," said Richmond's physical performance manager Peter Burge.
"Pleasingly, it's a mild case of the illness, and we don't anticipate he will be out of action for an extended period."
The 20-year-old has played 16 games since being drafted with the Tigers' first pick in the 2013 draft.
Key forward Jack Riewoldt ran laps as he continued his recovery from shoulder surgery, joined by recruits Jacob Townsend and Chris Yarran.
