Model Nicole Trunfio says she was surprised by the viciousness of Naomi Campbell's temper after working with her on The Face.
The West Australian says Campbell's onscreen displays of anger are real and while she is the ultimate professional, she also has the ultimate temper.
"I think I was expecting what most people would expect, but I was definitely impressed with how exuberant her dramatic moments are," Trunfio told AAP.
Trunfio and Campbell were involved in an on-air confrontation over the selection of a model during the first episode of The Face last week, which also features Australian model Cheyenne Tozzi as the third judge and mentor.
Trunfio said it was a very real clash, much worse than what was aired and, quite possibly, it has been edited to dilute the UK supermodel's temper.
"It's definitely more vicious, I think they've cut it (the show) to make it more PG," Trunfio said with a giggle.
"I respect her as a model, she is totally professional and she did have moments where she was the sweetest person.
"It just sucks that she has this side of her that just comes out like that."
Campbell's temper has become legendary and she's previously pleaded guilty to hitting her maid with a mobile phone and assaulting two police officers at Heathrow airport.
"I wonder, because I try not to think or focus on someone's negative qualities and I like to think most people are like that too, but I look back at those stories now and ask if they're worse than what the press came out with," Trunfio said.
Campbell is not only the "star" of The Face, she is also the executive producer of the series.
She was the principal judge in the US and UK versions of the show before committing to the eight episode series in Australia.
The series finished filming late last year and Campbell has since returned home.
Trunfio went on to work with Sam Worthington on the feature movie Paper Planes which was filmed in Western Australia.
She will launch her own New York-made fine jewellery line, which includes three collections, later this year.
* The Face airs on Tuesdays at 9pm on Foxtel channel Fox8.
