Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss has issued a stern warning to the Queensland government over the proposed Adani coal mine: "Get out of the way".

Mr Truss is "very disappointed" with the state government for forcing Adani through what he says are "another round" of environmental approvals for its Queensland coal mining project.

"The very best thing that governments can do to create new jobs in this region is to get out of the way and enable projects like the Adani mine to proceed immediately," Mr Truss told reporters in Townsville on Thursday.
