AFL ladder leaders Geelong have regained influential defender Zach Tuohy for their much-anticipated clash with West Coast at GMHBA Stadium.

The Cats confirmed the Irishman will play his first AFL game of the season against the reigning premiers on Sunday after overcoming a knee injury suffered in last year's elimination final.

Tuohy was added to the line-up along with exciting youngster Charlie Constable, with Brandan Parfitt (thigh) and Jordan Clark (managed) making way.

Nathan Vardy won't play against his old side after the Eagles' premiership ruckman was dropped.

Jack Redden (leg soreness) also departed the team that suffered an upset loss to Port Adelaide, with Daniel Venables and Jarrod Brander the inclusions.

In Sunday's other clash, Hawthorn have been strengthened by the returns of skipper Ben Stratton, Liam Shiels and Tim O'Brien for their encounter with Carlton in Launceston.

Harry Morrison, David Mirra and Conor Nash were all dropped from the line-up defeated by Geelong on Easter Monday.

Young Blues key forward Charlie Curnow has been included at the expense of Cameron Polson, but is still in some doubt after missing last week's breakthrough win over the Western Bulldogs with knee soreness.
