Turkey air strikes hit PKK in Iraq: report

Turkey's official Anadolu agency says the country's air force has struck a PKK base inside northern Iraq.

The Turkish air force has struck a base of the banned Kurdish party PKK inside Iraq, a news agency reports.

The air strikes over the Qandil mountains, just across the border, lasted two hours, the official Anadolu agency reported on Wednesday night.

No details were given regarding casualties. The PKK has a headquarters in Qandil.

The Turkish military launched a campaign in mid-December against PKK militants based in several cities on its territory.
