Turkish warplanes strike Kurds: report

The Turkish air force has carried out strikes on Kurdish fighters in the country's south, media reports say.

The Turkish air force has carried out multiple strikes on locations linked to the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the state-run Anadolu news agency reports.

Nine targets were destroyed on Friday in Hakkari province which borders Iraq and Iran, according to the report. There were no further details about the targets.

The conflict between the Turkish army and the Kurds has intensified since the breakdown of a ceasefire in summer 2015.
