Voters have marked down Malcolm Turnbull in a post-election opinion poll.

The prime minister has recorded a net approval rating of -11 per cent in the latest Essential poll, an 11-point turnaround from two weeks ago.

When asked how likely another election would be held within 12 months, 51 per cent of voters said it was likely while 28 per cent said not likely.
