Turnbull briefed on counter-terrorism

The prime minister is being briefed on Australia's counter-terrorism capabilities following deadly terrorist attacks in recent days.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is being briefed on Australia's counter-terrorism capabilities after deadly terrorist attacks in Belgium and Pakistan.

Mr Turnbull was joined by Defence Minister Marise Payne and Justice Minister Michael Keenan at the Holsworthy Barracks in Sydney on Tuesday.

He said the visit had been arranged months ago, but was especially topical following the attacks in Brussels and Lahore.
