Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull faces a difficult balancing act in reshuffling his ministry, a senior colleague predicts.
Changes before parliament resumes in two weeks are likely following the resignation of junior minister Jamie Briggs, Mal Brough's decision to stand down pending a police investigation into the Ashby-Slipper affair, and the mooted retirement of Nationals leader Warren Truss.
"(Mr Turnbull's) got some difficult balancing acts to perform, including the numbers of ... colleagues from the (lower) house as well as those from the Senate ... and the state representation," cabinet minister Josh Frydenberg told ABC radio on Monday.
