Turnbull pays tribute to SBS

Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull has visited SBS, saying that the broadcaster has contributed to multicultural Australia over many years.

Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull has paid tribute to SBS, saying the multilingual broadcaster is playing a large role in fostering social cohesion in a multicultural society.

In an address to SBS staff, Mr Turnbull said Australia had the most successful multicultural society in the world.

He also said SBS has played a key role in that success by promoting cultural harmony over many years in Australia.
