Turnbull proving a coward over ABCC: Labor

Labor's workplace relations spokesman Brendan O'Connor has labelled the prime minister a coward for not putting the ABCC legislation to the Senate.

Labor frontbencher Brendan O'Connor has labelled Malcolm Turnbull a "coward" for not bringing legislation to restore the Australian Building and Construction Commission to the Senate this week, or perhaps not even this year.

Labor opposes both the ABCC and registered organisations legislation bills the prime minster used to trigger the July double-dissolution election.

"He's a coward when it comes to standing up to the far-right on marriage equality ... the argument is now about 18C of the racial discrimination act, he seems to be a coward here too," Mr O'Connor told Sky News on Tuesday.
