Turnbull to spruik investment to giants

The prime minister is set to hold a private meeting with international investors to spruik the benefits of Australia's economic transition on innovation.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull wants to convince some of the world's biggest investors of the benefits of pumping dollars into Australia in a private, unprecedented meeting.

Senior ministers, bureaucrats and regulators will meet 20 big-name investment groups such as Blackrock and Capital Group to sell the prospects of Australian innovation, the Australian Financial Review reports.

Mr Turnbull will meet with international investors next Friday, as well as Reserve Bank governor Glenn Stevens, Treasury Secretary John Fraser, BHP Billiton chief executive Andrew Mackenzie, among others.
