From celebrity breakdowns and political scandals to revolutionary protests- Twitter has played a huge role since its creation six years ago.

From celebrity breakdowns and political scandals, to revolutionary protests, Twitter has played a huge role since its creation six years ago.

With over 500 million users, the microblogging site has grown to become one of the most influential social media tools.

Over recent years celebrities like Justin Bieber and politicians including President Obama, have embraced the site, making it the place to go for breaking news.

And come the Arab Spring of 2010/2011, millions used the tool to organise protests and share information.
