Two bikies on drug supply charges in NSW

Two bikies have been charged with being part of a drug syndicate operating in NSW's Hunter and Newcastle region.

Two men with links to the Rebels bikie gang have been charged over their alleged roles in a large-scale drug supply syndicate in Newcastle and the Hunter region.

The arrests follow the arrest of a 28-year-old man on April 9 after a vehicle stop on the Hunter Expressway uncovered 500g of methylamphetamine. His matter remains before the courts.

In Friday's operation, a 35-year-old man was arrested at a shopping centre car park at Aberglasslyn, along with a 21-year-old Wickham man and a 19-year-old woman at a home in Cliftleigh, and a man, 40, at a Rutherford home. Three homes in Aberglasslyn, Wickham and Rutherford were searched.

The Rutherford man was granted conditional bail to appear at Maitland Local Court on June 5.

The woman was charged with breaching her bail. She and the other two men, who were charged with drug supply, were all refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Saturday.
