A man and a woman are due to face court over a vicious attack on a vision-impaired man that left him semi-conscious on a street in Sydney's west.

It's alleged a 38-year-old woman and a man, 39, hit the 45-year-old man with a blunt object after he confronted them as they tried to break into a boarded up house in Hebersham on Saturday morning.

Neighbours found the victim lying on the street and he remains in hospital in an induced coma, NSW Police say.

His alleged attackers have been refused bail and are due to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on Monday.
