Two dead in Stuart Highway crash in NT

Two people have been fatally injured when their car collided with another vehicle on the Stuart Highway at Alice Springs.

Two people are dead after their car smashed into a 4WD on the Northern Territory's Stuart Highway at Alice Springs.

The man and woman, both 34, were fatally injured in the crash on the corner of the Stuart and Ross highways at about 6.45pm on Friday, while another occupant of their car and four people in the 4WD were hospitalised.

The accident resulted in the Stuart Highway's overnight closure as authorities investigated it.
