Two in immigration custody after drug bust

Two people have been handed over to immigration and a third is charged after almost $500,000 of cannabis was found in a house in Sydney's west.

A man and a woman have been turned over to the Department of Immigration after almost $500,000 worth of cannabis was found in a house in Sydney's west.

A 23-year-old man and 57-year-old woman were sent to Immigration on Sunday afternoon after raids on a Prairiewood house uncovered more than 50kg of cannabis head and 44 plants, police said.

A second man, 26, was also charged with multiple drug offences and will appear in Fairfield Local Court on Monday.
