Two men who caught a train from the NSW Central Coast together have been found dead at Sydney's Central Railway Station.

Emergency services were called to the station on Friday afternoon shortly after a country train terminated there.

Officers found an unresponsive man inside a toilet cubicle on the train and attempts were made to revive the 40-year-old but he died at the scene, police said.

An hour later, the body of another 40-year-old man was found in the male toilets on the station's country concourse.

Attempts to revive this man were also unsuccessful, police said.

It's believed the men knew each other and boarded the train together at Woy Woy Railway Station.

Police said early investigations suggest the deaths were not suspicious and post mortems will be conducted to determine how they died.
