Two men saved from NSW sinking boat

Two men have been saved by rescue teams after their boat sank off Sydney heads.

Two men have been saved from waters of Sydney Heads after activating their emergency distress beacon when their boat took on water and sank.

Westpac Life Saver Helicopter received the signal at 9.15am on Sunday and arrived at the location 6km off Sydney Head in seven minutes, to find the two men in the water after their vessel sank.

As the pair was about to be winched to safety, a NSW Police Marine vessel arrived on scene and took the men onboard, a Westpac Life Saver Helicopter spokesman told AAP.
