The Sydney Kings have suffered a huge blow with their captain and point guard Kevin Lisch expected to be out for up to two months of the NBL season.

Scans on Monday revealed the severity of the 2016 Olympian and two-time league MVP's torn calf sustained in the third quarter of Sunday's home win over Illawarra.

The Kings have been told they can expect 31-year-old running at full strength after eight weeks.

Kings management are considering their roster options following the bad news.

Sydney only have one other experienced specialist point guard in Jason Cadee.

However, they do have one import spot available and it's now highly likely they will look to supplement their back court with a guard from overseas.

There was also bad news on Monday for Adelaide, with recently acquired import forward Alan Wiggins requiring surgery for a broken arm this week, after getting injured in his debut against Melbourne United.
