Two more measles cases in Victoria

Two more people have been diagnosed with measles in Victoria, bringing the statewide number to 19 so far in 2019.

Almost 20 cases of measles have been reported in Victoria in 2019, with health authorities confirming two new patients.

Victoria's acting chief health officer announced the news on Tuesday saying the latest cases had come into contact with an infected overseas traveller in early May.

All the latest infected people attended public places in the past month including Mornington, Ballarat, St Kilda, Williamstown, Melbourne Airport Terminal 2, Southern Cross Station, Melbourne CBD, Geelong, Chadstone and Mount Waverley.

Anyone with symptoms compatible with measles should be tested especially if they attended any of the areas stated above and are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated for measles.
