Two pedestrians have died in separate incidents on Queensland's roads.

A 24-year-old man was found dead on a far north Queensland road around 4.45am on Saturday following a hit-and-run.

Police say he was struck by a car in Junction Road, Mossman, and are looking for a black car with damage to one of its headlights.

The death followed that of a woman struck by a car while crossing Lemke Road at Taigum, in Brisbane's north, about 8pm on Friday.

The driver of that car is assisting police.
