Two pedestrians killed on Qld's roads

Two pedestrians have died after being hit by cars in separate incidents in Queensland, and police are still looking for one of the vehicles involved.

Two pedestrians have died in separate incidents on Queensland's roads.

A 24-year-old man was found dead on a far north Queensland road around 4.45am on Saturday following a hit-and-run.

Police say he was struck by a car in Junction Road, Mossman, and are looking for a black car with damage to one of its headlights.

The death followed that of a woman struck by a car while crossing Lemke Road at Taigum, in Brisbane's north, about 8pm on Friday.

The driver of that car is assisting police.
