Two teens have been charged and more arrests are expected after a stabbing in Sydney's west earlier this month.
Emergency services descended on Melton Street North in Silverwater at about 2.40am on Saturday, March 5 after reports a man could be heard screaming outside.
A man was found with stab wounds to his chest, back and abdomen and rushed to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
Police and sniffer dogs scoured the area but nobody was found nearby.
Investigators had a breakthrough on Friday morning, arresting two 17-year-old boys at homes in Lidcombe and Birrong.
The pair were taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
They were each remanded in custody after appearing at a children's court to appear again on April 29.
Investigators believe the stabbing may have occurred in a neighbouring street and are appealing for witnesses.
