Two US troops have been injured by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

Two US servicemembers have been injured by a roadside improvised explosive device in eastern Afghanistan.

The troops were conducting "a normal security patrol" near Jalalabad Airfield in Nangarhar province on Saturday when their vehicle hit the bomb, a US Defence official said.

They were taken to Jalalabad Airfield for treatment. There was no word on their condition.
