Two weeks for NBL star Randle to hit form

Sydney NBL recruit and import Jerome Randle says he's out of form and thinks it will take at least two weeks to get back to his usual level for the Kings.

New Sydney Kings import Jerome Randle expects it will take him at least two weeks to hit top form but has told critics of his last-placed NBL team to relax.

Point guard and reigning league MVP Randle played his first games last week in losses to Illawarra and his former club Adelaide.

Hs scored 28 against the Hawks just three days after arriving in Australia and 18 on six from 15 field-goal attempts two nights later against his old club.

"I'm not in good form," Randle told AAP on Tuesday.

"Lots of people saw me score 28 points the first game but I didn't feel good after the game or during the game.

"I'm not even sure how I scored those points.

"It's going to take me a while to get my sleep and get my energy back but, right now, I'm just trying to get into form.

"Everything just caught up to me (against Adelaide). I basically hit a wall that game.

"At the end of the day, it's going to take me at least two more weeks to get in Jerome Randle form."

The 2-9 Kings don't play this week because of the international break, but Randle says the two losses haven't changed his mind about the extent of the challenge facing the club and himself.

"I knew exactly what I was getting myself into," he said.

"If anyone thought, just because I was the MVP last season that things were just going to turn around by a snap of a finger, that's just not going to happen.

"They were struggling when I got here and I think every team goes through their ups and downs and they had a tough road to begin the season, but the season is not over.

"People just need to relax, sit back and watch some good basketball and let us grow.

"Kevin Lisch is going to be coming back really soon. I'm really excited to be playing with him and that's going to give us a different look for this team.

Guard Lisch, playing just three times this season, said on Tuesday he was around three to four weeks away from playing.

"I haven't been training at all yet; I've started to run straight lines. With calves, it's a long process, but I'm working hard."
