Types of cancer most prevalent in NSW

People living in the NSW Hunter Valley, on the Central Coast and in Sydney's eastern and central suburbs are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer.

NSW: A BREAKDOWN OF CANCER DIAGNOSES

* Hunter Valley and Central Coast have the highest incidences of males diagnosed with prostate, lung, melanoma, head and neck, bladder, colorectal and pancreatic cancers

* Central and eastern Sydney have the highest incidences of males diagnosed with lymphoma, leukaemia and stomach cancers

* The Hunter and Central Coast have the highest incidences of females diagnosed with breast, colorectal, lung, melanoma, uterine, lymphoma and pancreatic cancers

* Central and eastern Sydney have the highest incidences of females diagnosed with leukaemia and ovarian and thyroid cancers.
