Engineering firm UGL has won a $100 million contract to help build water reclamation infrastructure on the NSW south coast.
Shoalhaven City Council is undertaking its single biggest public works project to use reclaimed water for purposes such as farming and watering parks, instead of just discharging it into the ocean.
The latest stage of the water management scheme will link the Nowra and Bomaderry sewage treatment plants with the existing water distribution and storage network.
The connection of the sewage treatment plants to the existing distribution system will double the daily reclaimed water supply managed by the scheme.
UGL will upgrade the Nowra and Bomaderry sewage treatment plants and build a pipeline under the Shoalhaven River to connect the Bomaderry sewage plant to the Nowra plant.

Work starts in late August 2016 and is expected to take two years.
Shares in UGL, which lost more than a third of their value in June due to the financial hit from a delayed LNG project near Darwin, were up 5.0 cents, or 2.16 per cent, to $2.36 at 1202 AEST.
