The IAAF says president Sebastian Coe has received the backing of track and field leaders from around the world as the organisation battles the damage from doping and corruption scandals.
The IAAF says the heads of the six continental track and field federations signed a statement pledging to "unequivocally support Sebastian Coe in his role, reform proposals and actions as IAAF President for now and in the future."
Coe was elected in August as IAAF president. He has faced criticism for his ties to predecessor Lamine Diack, who is facing a criminal investigation in France on money laundering and corruption charges related to doping cover-ups.
The IAAF suspended Russia from international track and field in November after a World Anti-Doping Agency commission report detailed a systematic, state-sponsored doping program in the country.
