Full-time employment rose by 18,400 to 7.795 million in the month and part-time employment was up by 27,500 to 3.306 million.
The participation rate in June was 65.2 per cent, up from an unrevised 65.1 per cent in May.
The forecast was for total employment to have risen by 15,000 in June, an unemployment rate of 5.2 per cent and a participation rate of 65.1 per cent, the median of 11 economists surveyed by AAP
showed.
