Australia and the United States are set to beef up co-operation on tackling cybercrime.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and President Barack Obama agreed to strengthen ties on cyber security during a bilateral meeting at the White House in Washington DC on Tuesday (US time).
Under the plan, there will be an annual Australia-US cyber security dialogue.
The Australian Strategic Policy Institute and the US Centre for Strategic and International Studies will jointly convene the event bringing together senior business, academic and public-sector representatives.
The two countries will also work together on developing cyber-incident response strategies.
There will also be increased exchange opportunities between police and cyber crime experts and more collaboration on investigations.
Both nations will also jointly help other countries in the Indo Pacific increase cyber security and tackle internet crime.
