Fired Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor, accused of murdering Australian life coach Justine Damond in an alley shooting, has revealed he will use a "defence of others" strategy at his April trial.
Noor's lawyers re-affirmed in a filing to the Minnesota District Court on Friday that Noor would plead not guilty to second and third-degree murder charges and would claim "self defence" and "reasonable force".
This was flagged in a previous filing.
The new filing adds "defence of others" as Noor's fourth defence for his April 1 trial in Minneapolis.

Noor's partner, Officer Matthew Harrity, was in the driver's seat of their police squad car just before midnight on July 15, 2017, when Ms Damond approached Officer Harrity's open window in the darkness.
Noor, sitting in the front passenger seat of the police car, allegedly shot across Officer Harrity and out the window, striking Ms Damond in the stomach.
Ms Damond had earlier called police after hearing a woman's screams near her Minneapolis home.
She was unarmed and dressed in her pyjamas when she walked out to meet the officers.
If convicted of second-degree murder Noor faces a maximum sentence of 40 years' prison.
Noor was fired from the Minneapolis Police Department in March soon after prosecutors announced charges against him.
