New York City has hosted visits since 1984 with this year's event marking 200 years since the War of 1812 when the US Navy took on Britain's powerful Royal Navy, a conflict that inspired 'The Star Spangled Banner' – the US national anthem.
This year, ships from the US, Colombia, Canada, UK, Mexico, Spain, Japan, Finland, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, France, and Indonesia docked in New York.

SBS sailed aboard USS Wasp, an amphibious assault ship, with its crew and members of the Marine Corps, as it made its way from the Atlantic Ocean, up through New York Harbor, to dock in Manhattan.
