Apple has agreed to remove an app from its App Store after students at a US high school complained about negative posts left on it.
An Apple spokesman said on Tuesday evening the company has removed the After School app.
Students at Rutland High School in the state of Vermont also petitioned the creators of After School to take their school's message board down and organised a counterattack after the comments last week.
They launched a "Positive Post-it" campaign in which small notes offering praise and encouragement to fellow students were stuck to school bulletin boards and windows.
The app's intended use was to help students to form groups tied to a specific school and post anonymous messages about local goings-on.
School principal Bill Olsen described the comments left on the app as "negative, obscene".
