US woman builds tiny 'green' home

A US woman has gone to the extreme of building a 7.8 square metre home, all in the name of minimising her environmental impact.

Dee Williams in Washington has given up some modern amenities to build what she considers a tiny dream home.

"I'm an environmentalist. I wanted to live in a way that honoured my true values," she told CNN.

The $10,000 house is built from recycled materials, and is mostly wood with "a little bit of copper".
